We have been having issues with the files syncing. It is hit or miss. Some client accounts show there is a google drive connection but nothing is showing in the files area to match. Some clients its ok. Puzzling actually. Now, another issue I am having is timing. One of my processes are to print the return and save to google drive and request signatures but I save it one place and then it does not show where I can grab for the signature etc due to it being way too slow or not linking at all. This needs to be cleaner and sync right away.

Google Drive integration update

I mistakenly thought the Google Drive integration meant I wouldn't have to customize the upload button for each task where I request a document. I want documents uploaded to a task to be saved in the Google Drive folder that I've mapped for each client so I don't have to customize that button for every single document request.

Although we received notice that 2-way sync is now enabled, it does not seem to be working. Is there something else we need to do in order to enable it in FC?
Amanda Aparicio
Beverly Gustafsson, nothing else you need to do on your end! We had to turn off the two-way sync to make some changes, but it should be back on. You can respond directly to the announcement email I sent you if you're still not seeing the changes!

I would be interested in participating in the Beta testing.

I realize this might come into play once bi-directional sync is set up, but we need the ability to NOT duplicate files in Google Drive. If I upload a file directly to Google, it should not duplicate that file when I sync FC files/folders to Google drive

What is the current status ? When will it be released.. Looking forward to it.
Amanda Aparicio
Arlee Hoecherl, this is stil in our private beta testing! We have the one-way sync working and are currently developing the two-way sync which will take some time

Amanda Aparicio Question 2 way would be bi-directional and to see both main drive and shared drive would be an asset. .i.e. the client source documents are saved on the "shared drive' and shared with client and prospects alike.
Amanda Aparicio
Arlee Hoecherl, for the two-way sync, essentially any change you make in the
Client Files
of FC would be reflected in the integrated drive (and visa versa). That way, everything in FC matches what is in Google Drive so that it's easier to manage files across systems. Let me know if that answers your inquiry!A

Amanda Aparicio Yes great answer- question - can we select which clients folders we want to sync with? For example 1 long term client have had for 20 years fo 20 separate Companies, and the google drive has all 20 years of folders with all the related source docs, meetings, billing, and accounting, and tax filings - Monthly payroll, staff timesheets etc.. furthermore- I would only want to sync the last say 4 years of data to FC.. (i.e that would require a little more selection detail ) For example I also use the online data backup system called Sync. In that I can select which series of detail folders to Sync (i.e there is a check box on every folder and Every Subfolder) turn on or turn off sync.
Amanda Aparicio
Arlee Hoecherl, great question! The way the two-way sync is designed is to sync
everything
between whatever folder you select in Google Drive and Financial Cents. That said, during the initial setup phase, there'll be a button you can click to sync everything in the connected folders. If you skip clicking this button, then we'll only sync (1) new items moving forward OR (2) items you manually click to sync. It's not a full solution like your example with Sync, but it's the closest I can think of off the top of my head!
