In the design, how do you handle multiple projects / tasks.. One on hold (client A Personal Tax Planning Task) , switch to Client B, Project (year 2026 Bank overdraft support) and task (Finance & Tax Advisement talk to Bank's Commercial Loan Rep. ) And what is the embedded Audit trail? Has anyone thought of that? Time stamp, and link to a proof of activity? For example Federal Tax Auditors when Examining Our Consulting Accounting Invoice to the client... Asked for the Activity listing and Embedded audit trail on such client invoice. And yes when it was provided, they analyzed and Questioned the integrity of our own Billing.! And yes the clear documentation of on and off a client task was under dispute/ examination/ and tax interpretation as well. (Noting, no provision for system time entry clicks, which is an administrative cost, nor in an 6 hour time review no record of mandatory breaks such as bathroom coffee or lunch. ) No client should be billed or pay for internal administrative time. (It did not matter the method of billing i.e. hourly vs Value based billing) service delivery was being examined. Note, an accounting work effort audit trail is much different from a Transaction User log Audit trail which on it's own may also be part of the documentation, such as email log, fax log, Phone call log, building/office log, meeting log In/out of office, Cab Ride, or Geo record of client business travel with a personal vehicle. As the auditor commented, You "SAY" You made a client site visit where is the complimentory audit proof of such billed activity? It's much harder to build that Audit trail on time and activity after it's occured, rather than some Forethought to Be prepared for a Federal Audit on our own billings and have a system of Audit trail recording.
