Search within ALL folders in the Files tab
Amanda Aparicio
When using the search bar in the "Files" tab on a client, the search only looks for files and folders at THAT level. Instead, consider allowing for the search to look through ALL files and folders for the client.

The file search function should look at the search string across all file and folders within the client File archive, not just the current folder level.

The search isn't finding your file because it's inside the "Client uploaded documents / 2026" folder. Documents uploaded by clients to folders may not be indexed by the search function in the same way as files in the main Client Files area.
Try navigating directly into that folder to access your "EYB Exemption Certificate 2026" file, or check if the search works when you're inside the specific folder rather than searching from the main Client Files level.

This would need to be a feature request - https://financial-cents.canny.io/feedback
The search function within Client Files is location specific (folder specific). For this instance, you would need to go to the folder that it is located in, to search for it.
Alternatively, you can use the search bar at the top to global search the client file -

This is a VERY LIMITED search function. the top bar search is not sufficient because it prioritizes the results (so it may not include the record that matters). The file search function should work just like all others "project and clients" where it goes into every attribute to search for the search strong pattern.
