There needs to be an ability to run customized reports. For example, in our 1040 projects there is always a task "Prepare Return". I want to be able to run a report by client and that specific task. But in a broader sense, if there is any type of category (service item, group, task, team member, etc) you should be able to create a report and pick whatever you want on that report.

Maurice Birt Have you tried doing this with the CVS export and using pivot tables in excel to sort the data. This would allow you to see data sorted based on several filter options.
I also use the task view to narrow down to view specific tasks, the only issue there is if you use the same task name across multiple project titles you won't have a list of your "Prepare Return" for just 1040. They also just updated the task view filters to help narrow this view down to what we are looking for a little better.
Hope this helps until more filter options are considered in the future :)
