Parent Client / Sub-Client Relationship
Amanda Aparicio
I manage multiple businesses owned by the same underlying client and need a way to group those FC client accounts under a shared "parent" record. Without this, managing files and projects across related accounts becomes fragmented.
Some examples are:
- File sharing: A bank statement that applies to all three of a client's businesses has to be uploaded separately to each FC account today. With a parent/sub-client structure, a file could be linked once and associated across all related accounts.
- Project visibility: With many projects spread across multiple related accounts, it's easy to miss a statement or task. A parent client view would give firms a single place to see all active work across a client's businesses.

This could also help with billing. I have a client who owns NINE! companies. I would like to only send one bill each month, but connect all 9 sub-clients so that each one can have a MEC and individual company notes, etc.

Allow nesting of clients or linking of clients for pulling time into invoice

When we do estate returns, we end up making a 2nd client for the estate while the original client is the stub 1040 we need to finish (since the 2 clients are different EINs now). However, the time tracking blends between the 2 clients/projects and when we invoice, sometimes the estate needs to be pay all of it. We can't pull time into the estate invoice that was booked under the original client 1040. Need a way to do that. This happens with business and personal time allocations too. Biz may pay for some of the time on personal and we can't pull it across.
