Identifying which documents have been downloaded

Looking for a way to determine which documents and files have been downloaded by the receiver, such as identifying which specific files have been downloaded

Archive or check-box for Client's uploaded Documents that has been downloaded in the client task
Amanda Aparicio
in the client tasks feature - client uploads documents and you download them to save on your computer - It would be nice if you can achieve or have a check box beside each document that has been uploaded by client so you can be able to track what has been downloaded or not by you and your staff

Yes please! I would like it on any and all documents that are uploaded in any of the locations they can be uploaded to. And if the documents that have not been downloaded have a colored dot, then you know which ones still need downloaded. Or, if the document has been downloaded then it has a dot, so you know if the document does not have a dot, it still needs downloaded.

Carrie Ma, we did recently add a "Downloaded file" event to the Client Audit Log on projects! Or are you looking for this information within the Client Files, too?

Amanda AparicioThank you for your reply. May i know where exactly it is located? Because a client uploaded files 2 days ago, Nov 11th, we even downloaded the files the same day, however the files did NOT indicated these files had been downloaded. Please view attached.

Amanda Aparicio I see what you mean as far as when we send files to clients, which is great - but I would like to also see when and who in the office downloaded the files received from the Client Task and ideally by looking at the list of documents, not searching through the audit log.
This would help monitor our team and that the person responsible for documents have done what they need. Especially when we have multiple team members collaborating on the same project and only one team member can be the representative on the Client Task.
Amanda Aparicio
Carrie Ma, the Client Audit Log can be found under the
Actions
menu on the project (see screenshot). Do note that this will only show client
activity, so if someone internally downloads the file, nothing will appear on the log. Do correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're looking for something similar to what Lindsey Denson described?

Amanda Aparicio Hi, thanks for the details. Yes, similar to Lindsay Denson, but she is more specific, which is something that I'd like to know as well: if it's possible to see who downloaded the client files, when, and by viewing the document list rather than searching the audit log. Also, here in the Client Audit Log does not mention which file has been downloaded (please view attached picture).
Amanda Aparicio
Carrie Ma, got it! I'll share with our team in that case. For the Client Audit Log, do note that this only shows if the file was downloaded by the
Client
(not internal users). It does sounds like, however, that it would be of use to have internal user information as well though! To both you and Lindsey Denson: Out of curiosity, what's the use case you're imagining for having this information? How do you intend to use this info?

Amanda Aparicio clients sometimes upload more than 100 documents at once and then add one extra document later (like just few hours later) after we have downloaded the 1st batch. After downloading the first batch, it can be very time-consuming to find that single untouched document, especially since clients are often unresponsive when we need to identify which one exactly.

Amanda Aparicio Exactly like Carrie Ma said as far as client uploads some docs, then more later. But also, if there is more than one team member on the project, if I can see that another team member has already downloaded/started work then I do not need to spend my time doing so.
Also, as management, it would be good to see if team members responsible for retrieving documents have done so.

I'd also like a staff acknowledgement check box for client comments and for the Client Tasks section to not collapse automatically once the client has completed his/her tasks.

Create a button next to each file a client has uploaded to indicate someone in the accountant's organization has downloaded the file for use. Perhaps include a date as well.

Mark Client Documents as Downloaded from "Securely request documents"

I'd like documents I haven't downloaded marked with "new" (or some sort of checkmark if I havee already downloaded them) AND an option to "download new" along with the current "download all" (see attachment)
For example, I might "Securely request documents" from a client and they upload 50 documents over a month - if I need to download some of those documents before others, there's no way in FC to currently keep track of what I've downloaded and what I haven't.
