Automated Statement Fetching via Banking APIs

I would love to see Financial Cents add automated statement fetching using available banking/data APIs such as Plaid, MX, Finicity, or similar providers.
For accounting and bookkeeping firms, collecting monthly bank, credit card, loan, and merchant statements is still one of the most time-consuming parts of the month-end close process. Even with strong client portals and recurring requests, firms still spend too much time chasing statements, logging into portals, downloading PDFs, renaming files, and uploading them into the correct client folder.
The ideal workflow would be:
Financial Cents connects to available statement-fetching APIs, allowing firms to securely link client financial institutions and automatically pull monthly statements when they become available. Those statements would then auto-save into the appropriate client file structure inside Financial Cents.
For example:
Client: ABC Company
Institution: Chase
Account: Operating Checking
Period: April 2026
File auto-saves to: ABC Company > Documents > Bank Statements > 2026 > April 2026
This would be a major win for firms because it would:
Reduce client follow-up and statement-chasing
Improve month-end close timeliness
Keep source documents organized and audit-ready
Reduce manual downloading, renaming, and uploading
Improve consistency across bookkeeping teams
Help firms scale without adding unnecessary admin labor
This would also pair very well with recurring projects and month-end close workflows. A task could automatically update once the statement is received, or the firm could be alerted when a statement is missing after a set date.
Even if not every institution is supported at launch, starting with the major API providers would still solve a huge pain point for bookkeeping and accounting firms. Statement collection is one of those repetitive admin tasks that should be automated as much as possible.
This would make Financial Cents much stronger as a true accounting workflow and document management platform.

I would love to see you all have an automatic bank fetching integration like QuickBooks. QBO works about 25% of the time and I am sure you all could do much better. This will dramatically increase productivity. Especially with clients that take longer to upload.
