Project Template Categories, Emoji Support, and More!
We released several new features and improvements recently:
- Project Template Categories
- Emoji Support in Project Titles, Project Tags, and Sections
- Add MEC Reports to Projects from the Client Profile
- Non-Recurring Template Sections
Project Template Categories
Your Project Templates just got a whole lot easier to navigate. 💖

You can now organize your templates by dragging and dropping them between categories, which will then show up in the
Create Project > From Template
flow. This makes finding the right template take seconds (vs. scrolling through a long flat list). Lastly, we also added a
Manage Workflow Template Categories
permission so you can decide who on your team can rename, reorganize, or delete categories.Emoji Support in Project Titles, Tags, and Sections
You can now add emojis to project titles, project tags, and task section titles using either the new emoji picker or by typing shortcuts like
:joy:
.
This is great for visually distinguishing tax projects from bookkeeping, flagging priority sections, or just adding a little personality to your workflow.
Add MEC Reports to Projects from the Client Profile
You can now push
Month End Close
reports directly into a project from a client's Month End Close
tab.
Hit
+ Add to Project
on any MEC section, pick which reports you want to include, choose the target project, and you're done. Sections and reports are added as team task sections, ready to assign and track.Non-Recurring Template Sections
Template task sections can now be marked as non-recurring.

That way, you can create templates where most of the work repeats each year but specific sections (like one-time setup or onboarding tasks) shouldn't.
When you create a recurring project from the template, sections marked non-recurring will skip the recurrence and behave as one-off tasks. Otherwise, the section will continue to recur as it does on recurring projects today.
