We've made several improvements in this past week:
  • Ability to show previews of chat messages in email notifications
  • Increasing the speed of our email integration,
  • Adjustments to proposals based on your feedback,
  • Improved import of Tax Codes and Service Items experience for QuickBooks Online users,
  • And increasing the usability of our Team and Client Task sections.
Show Chat Message Previews in Email Notifications
We now have a setting that, when enabled, allows for previews of chats to display in the corresponding email notification so that you and your clients can quickly decide if you need to action on a chat now vs. later. This setting can be found under
Automations & Settings
on the
Settings > Company
page.

Enabling this setting will show chat previews for both you AND your client. For example, the below email message is similar to what your client will see:

Increased Email Sync Speed for Outlook Integrations
We've tinkered with the "under the hood" components of our email integration. You should now see improved load times of new emails so that your Outlook inbox more instantly matches what you see within Financial Cents.
Proposal Improvements
We've made three improvements to our
Proposals
feature based on your feedback. In particular:
  • "Invoice balance on" can now be empty.
    In the past,
    Deposit
    service types that were billed on acceptance would automatically populate the current date as the
    Invoice balance on
    date. Now, we keep this field empty with the generated proposal stating "Billing Date TBD"

  • Reduce white space in generated PDF.
    We've received feedback that PDFs generated by proposals had too much white space. As a result, we've done a redesign of the proposal PDFs so that we're using space more intentionally.

  • Option to Create Draft Invoices from Proposals.
    Previously, accepted proposals would automatically create invoices that would be sent to the client. Now, you have the option to select if you'd like to immediately send the generated invoice to the client or if you'd rather a draft invoice be created to be sent manually at a later date.

Improved Billing Experience for QuickBooks Online Users
In order to better support QuickBooks Online users with our Billing feature, we've included an
Import from QuickBooks
button on the
Billing > Settings
pages for
Service Items
and
Tax Codes
. That way, it's easier to import the needed items from QuickBooks Online in order to have successful syncing of invoices.
Note:
This change only impacts accounts that have integrated with a QuickBooks Online account.

Improved Usability when Creating Project Sections
We've split up the
New Section
button within Projects into "+ Team Tasks" and "+ Client Requests". This reduces the number of clicks needed to create a new section, saving you time down the line!
